How it started...

Like I mentioned in the "About Me" section of this website, I have always had a love for the music industry. However, it was not until I was older that I realized that working in the industry is not as far-fetched as people have made it seem. I had always seen it as unattainable due to the fact that so many people were confused as to how you would make an actual career out of it.
I grew up constantly surrounded by music so it is honestly no surprise that I have the love that I do for the beautiful creation. Because of all the different generations within the house, I grew up listening to everything from Eminem and Biggie to Backstreet Boys and Usher.
I also managed to change my career path on several occasions because I was so uncertain of what I was passionate about for the longest time. I started off wanting to be an Early Childhood Education major and teaching children to becoming a pediatric nurse (as someone who literally hates hospitals). However, I had always admired the entertainment industry and those that worked in it with my earliest childhood crush even going back to when I was 8 years old and fawning over Jesse McCartney and his song "Beautiful Soul". Yes, I am 24 years old and yes, I still in fact fawned over him when I saw him back in May... I couldn't help it.
When I graduated high school, I started going to music events and concerts by myself as I took every and any opportunity I could to see my favorite artists.

One group in particular allowed me to attend live tapings of Total Request Live (TRL) and Good Morning America (GMA) on several occasions. It was after my first time attending TRL and seeing all the work, behind the scenes stuff that happens and what goes into putting a show together that I decided to take the jump and switch my major. I continued on to receive my Associates in Early Childhood and once I transferred to Montclair State, I applied as a Communications and Media Arts Major.
This program at Montclair provided me with many opportunities that solidified the fact I wanted to go into the industry even more so. I took several electives within the film and media courses throughout my time at MSU. These classes were extremely hands on and ranged from me directing a video and calling camera shots / directions amongst other students to me creating podcasts and on-air radio commercials. I was even lucky enough to get to talk to people IN THE ACTUAL industry from producers to managers, they all taught me different things that I can use to apply to all my future projects.
Since graduating, I have spent the summer attending (yes, more) concerts, traveling and even got provided with the opportunity to attend the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. I am so excited to be using this platform to talk about all my past experiences within the industry as well as sharing with you all my new ones.
Thank you so much for the support.
Stay tuned for more to come.
Lots of love, Halina <3
